Receiving a "Notifications: Certificate has expired" error

There may be a point that you try to schedule a push notification but are receiving a "Notifications: Certificate has expired":

The cause for this is that one of the Apple Push Certificate in your app has expired and must be updated. If your permissions allow for it, you can see the push certificate and expiration dates by navigating to Settings > Developer > SDK Setup in your app.

When an app has an expired certificate, this stops Carnival from creating new messages with a push. There are two options to resolve this:

  • Renew the development or production certificate and replace it by uploading to Carnival through the Settings/Developer page.
  • If the development certificate is expired, remove the development certificate for now until you need to push to devices through the development gateway.
